I've Got Big Buzz to share!

After my last post in June, not much happened with my book for the rest of the year. I finished my master's in library science in July and took a full-time position with an area library in October. In November, the publisher contacted me to let me know they had issues with the illustrations. There was even a chance the illustrations would have to be redone. I was feeling pretty discouraged and even wondered if it would happen.
Then, in March, the publishing company's admin contacted me asking for a picture and a bio that could be used to introduce me on social media. I still didn't know a publication date, but I did feel more optimistic. The publisher contacted me in April to let me know the book would be published in January 2025. I was glad to have an actual publication date finally, but it seemed so far away.
A couple of weeks ago, Erica, my contact at the publisher, sent an email telling me that the publication date would be February 3 and that pre-sales would go live very soon. I assumed that meant within the next few weeks, but my book showed up on Amazon later that day. Since then, I have been trying to get everything updated and the word out. I posted the cover on my Instagram page and the info on my personal Facebook page. Today, I visited a local bookstore to leave my card and see if they would be willing to order my first box of books for me.
Let the marketing begin! I am trying to beef up my Instagram posts and make connections with more local bookstores. I am thinking about the launch- when/where it should happen. I will try to post better as things get "buzzy."
